tv module pinouts for external dvd
Hi, i'd like to add some rca connectors (video+stereo) but i don't know if i have to find out pinouts in tv module or radio head unit.
I've got e39 touring with navi mkIV, monitor 16:9 and tv tuner. Does anybody do this before? Thanks Claudio |
Here you go. Scroll to the bottom of this link for the pinouts on the white TV/Video module plug (in the trunk).

#4 composite video in signal
#5 composite video in ground #6 audio in signal #15 audio in ground ok these are pinouts but audio isn't it stereo? Claudio |
No, unfortunately the TV/Video module only supports mono audio. The radio only has a mono input for the TV module as well.
A few folks have used one of the TV in Motion type adapters that allow you to watch your video module while listening to a separate audio input on the radio. These would work pretty well, if you ran the audio from an external video source into either the Aux input (if you have a new gen radio) or through a CD changer interface. I do not have one of these adapters, but it is on my shopping list for down the road. |
You said about " a new gen radio" but maybe mine it is because it's a BM54. I can see on EBAY there are DVD AUX cables which have 4 rca connectors. So they are stereo but i'd need an adapter, is it right? Or my kind of radio head unit is up to date for that?

Thanks for links. You must say i've got some little problem understanding German language(maybe some of you could say English too). Well, i'll try to study those pinout scheme. But about radio scheme, do you think i'd plug my rca cables in the head unit? Not in my tv tuner module?
