Hey guys I just bought a whole navigation retrofit kit on eBay...

Includes:
16:9 On-Board Monitor with Tape Player and surrounding trim plate
MKIII Navigation Computer
BMW Business Radio BM55
BMW GPS Antenna with cable
BMW Retrofit Wire Harness
Brackets to install the On-Board Monitor and computer

Am I missing anything???



I want to be able to hook up XM Radio with the integrated menu's so they show up on the monitor. . .

Still be able to use the stock CD changer. . .

Hook up an iPod adapter. . .

Also wire it up for AUX Video so I can have a DVD player hooked up to it and later get the lcd's in the headrests...

Now, what do I need to do this? What is the simplest way to do it. I've ckecked out all the reccomended websites like Nav-TV and stuff, but all of if just makes my head spin. So please don't just tell me to check out a site, please tell me what Im looking for too

There has to be a simplistic way to do this. I need to find one thing that will do all of these things... HELP

That actually sounds amazingly complete. You may need some miscellaneous screws and stuff. And there are actually two wiring harnesses (but you may have both). One is the main harness that runs from the trunk to the dash and carries the video signals up and the radio hook-ups back to the trunk. The other is a short adapter lead that just connects the main harness to the nav computer. You may also need the nav computer mounting bracket and trim piece.

I do not know of a way to hook up XM so that it integrates with the monitor display, but BMW's Sirius will connect. If your BM53 radio module is new enough, it will support Sirius. Then, you just need to add the Sirius receiver module, an Sirius antenna, and the Sirius-to-CD adapter cable.

To get aux video, you will need either the BMW TV/Video module, or one of the aftermarket video input modules like the Deitz or the one that EIS sells.

Also, you may want to get the Aux input adapter for the radio, since your radio will probably support it and it is easy to do now, during the main install.

You have 16x9 and MKIII? Isn't MKIII CD-based? You would need MKIV to go with DVD-based.

Oh, Eric, I just noticed that you are nearby!!!! You are in San Jose and I am in Santa Clara. I have done our X5 4.4 Retro upgrade late last year. Let me know if you need some help.

Unfortunately, XM will not be compatible with NAV vehicles, but Sirius is available for your X5. Here's some links to what you would need:

Don't you mean the radio was BM53?
