Yes, some of the UK guys on yahoo nav forum have done it. See my post above for lead to where all the part numbers are for the Video Modules.

You can find them on ebay Germany and maybe UK. Rarely on ebay US.

Yes they work fine in the UK, with mk4 and 16:9, the freeview channels
are great quality almost like dvd picture quality... but the UK $tealers
will not sell any, you have to go and buy from Germany... where i got mine
and all the associated TV Funtion parts for a retro fit kit...:thumbup:

I've installed a hybrid digital/analogue tv module in my MG ZT to replace the old BMW one that was factory fitted. I've also replaced the display with a widescreen boardmonitor one and the sat nav for a MK4 unit. All work fine but the signal isn't very good for digital freeview or even analogue. Has anybody fitted a booster or amplifier like one one of these or anything else to boost the signal?

The parts are for a 7 series E38 unless you have seen the area in your car to take the connections, but i doubt it, most Rover cars where exchanging
parts with the E46.... do you not have antenna diveristy twin antenna's
in your bumper like most E46's require... the only part i can think of installing is BMW TV amplifier Part number 65.25-8.368.210

which improves reception signal quality, the main issue is finding info on
incorporating this item into your car system... i have not found a answer yet also, have spoken to various BMW Techs, who do not know... let alone a TV Function Retro fit installation... also no info on the WDS ver 7 either....

I've been following a few threads on other BMW forums and they reach the same conclusion with aftermarket installations (I think I've seen some of your posts as on my travels as well ;)). The ZT has "an" amplifier in the C pillar and the aerial is built into the rear windscreen but I can't see much info on what the aerial amp is. I need to do a little more digging around.

I went for a drive today and got lots of Freeview channels all crystal clear in some areas of my home town so I believe only minimal boosting will be required to get a stable and constant picture.
