Viewing Nav Screen With Shades on!
Guys, I've just upgraded my 02 X5 with a mkIV DVD nav unit. All great and much faster, however if I'm wearing polarised sunglasses I can't see the screen. my o/s is 4 1/70.
can anyone suggest what I need to do please? |
I don't think you have any other options other than changing the nav screen to a MKIV screen or wearing non-polorized sun glasses.
My friend with a 2001 M5 has the same problem with his MKIII Nav screen. I do not have this issue on my 03.5 DVD Based MKIV Nav screen or on my 05 X5 w/ the MKIV nav screen. |
Ok thanks for your help - I was hoping not to have to replace the screen. Nothings ever simple!

No answer here but...
Our screen is viewable by the driver with polarized sunglasses on but not the passenger. (MKIII nav unit 11/2001 build) |
sunglasses are cheap, just get another pair

X5WOMBLE - I just bought myself a nice pair of polarised Ray Bans and have exactly the same problem. :bawling: Mine's a 2002 X5 with an upgraded Mk IV unit like yourself. However, as pkhines points out, if you sit in the left seat the screen perfectly clear, but obviously here in the UK we're not gonna go very far sat over on that side.
I guess the solution is a screen upgrade, or simply wear a pair of non-polarised shades - shame! Had I not bought them in the USA I'd take them back and exchange them. |
:iagree:

In the US maybe, not so here in the UK!
