Problems with Route Magnet

I have some problems with the Route Magnet feature. It looks like that the magnet is not properly sticked when set. Quite often the Route Magnet has not any effect to the calculated route at all. Sometimes it might work, but the routing might be tens of miles away from the point which actually was set. Does anyone else have same problems (or fixes to it)?

I have a mark 4 navi + v27 os + 2006-2 DVD (Europe).

That's why it's called Route Magnet and not Way Point, it does not act like a way point! It will only route you through a Route Magnet point if that point is on one of the routes that is being considered by the Nav computer, if it's not, then it may select the route that goes nearest to the Route Magnet point. It's rubbish really, why they did not implement a proper Way Point is a mystery.
