How to change nav voice?

Newbie to the forum :) looks like you all are the best place to come for this stuff so I hope you can help with this.

In reading all the past-posts it appears as though you can change the NAV voice from USA Female to GB Female pretty easily just by re-naming the files on the disc. My problem is that the .rar files I have downloaded for the upgrades generate a .mds file and a .mdf file. I run ImgBurn and it will allow me to make the CD, but then I can't modify the files since they are burned on the CD.

My question is how do I extract those files so that I can modify them before burning them to the CD for installation into the vehicle. (fyi I have 4-1/40 sw version right now).

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Or even a place I can get this stuff already done so I can take it to my car. :)

http://www.isobuster.com/isobuster.php should be able to let you modify and rename files within the .mds image.

Thanks Terry, that is very helpful, I can now open the image file...but my problem remains, I can not edit any of the files in it. Any thoughts on how I can get to the point to be able to edit the files in the image file?

Hi is it possible to put the tom tom voices on the Mini Sat Nav?
I've got different voices for the tom tom but want to know if I can have one of them instead of the female voice. If you can what must I do?

Thanks to all of you who have posted now and in the past I went ahead and followed the instructions to modify the voice files for the NAV system. I switched the USA to the GB voice and man is she must nicer to listen to. Why they picked the annoying sounding american voice is beyond me, no longer do I have to listen to "If possible make a legal u-turn" now I hear "If possible make a u-turn" and it sounds right and polite.

I like the "take the second turning on the left" :)

Feel free to write me if any of you all have more questions on this process or how it sounds. (she speaks slightly slower and the words are better put together I think)
