Mk4 Post Code + Arival Time

:) I have a Europe MK4 DVD nav running 27.1 firmware with a 2006-2 map, can anyone tell me if it is possible to enter just the post code to find your destination as when i go to the address input screen i cannot enter any numbers or am i doinig it wrong, if so can some one please explane the procedure for me. also the arrival time apears to be about two minute out, not that this is detrimental but i just wondered how it would affect your arrival time on a long Journey i.e estimated time of arrival

I cant help with the time discrepancy but yes you can just enter the postcode to locate the place you want to go.

In menu go to navigation, in navigation go to input destination, under this highlight city/PC, use the scroll options ie, chose the first 2 letters of the PC then drop down to the numbers on the lower line (using the right hand 'knob' push to select for each letter or number) The system will start listing addresses with numbers the more of the post code you input the smaller the number of addresses. I dont think I have ever used more than 5 digits of the postcode ie GU31 6.. then I have seen the address on the screen.

I think there is an 'issue' with the 2006-2 map - it works ok on the 2006-1 disk but not the -2. I am sure there was a thread on this somewhere here.

Pete

Thanks for the instructions i tried it last night and it worked. i have not noticed before that the numbers are not selectable till you have entered two letters. it will not let me enter more then say NG19 5 so it will not find the street just the county but it is help full, saves a lot of typing on the screen.

Regards
Tony

Anyone know if this issue is fixed with the 2007-1 DVD?

The "5-digit-issue" may have to do with the fact that the software was designed in or for Germany and post codes in Germany a 5 digits long...

Yeah that would make sense
