Help! Navigation OS update went bad
Yesterday I decided to upgrade my Mk4 navi to OS version V28.
I burned a disc image of the upgrade cd with Alcohol 120% and all the files were there on the disc. When I inserted the cd to the navi, it first said: "CD-rom in navigation computer Loading software" but after that the screen went blank. I waited for 15 min, but it stayed blank. I burned another copy but this time it stayed blank from the beginning. Today I also managed to find a update-cd with version v27 that had already worked with another BMW. It didn't work for me. My screen stayed blank with that disc too. What more can I do? I would really appreciate good advise.. -Pete |
Burn Slow
Burn a new CD (v28) slow (2x or 4x). Put into the navigation system and wait. Few minutes and update starts.
Important: this kind of disc, should burn slow! :goodluck: |
I did burn another copy with 2x speed. Nothing changed, I still
have totally blank screen. Does it matter if I use RAW DAO or SAO etc. when burning? Are there any other Alcohol 120% settings that should know about? Like I mentioned before, I already tried a friend's V27 version which had worked fine for him. It didn't work for me. If I keep trying, should I try with v28 (which I tried originally) or other versions? Anything else I could try? |
Hi,
put the V28 cd in the nav computer. Disconnect the MK4 from the power, the blue connector. Then you put the blue connector back, and the update will go. gr. Appy |
I tried disconnecting the blue connector. It didn't help.
I'm getting desperate... |
i tried upgrading my software as well. i inserted the cd and it said something like upgrading blah blah blah, then it went blank.. the cd wont even come out now.. when i turn the engine back on it goes to a grey screen menu with everything but the nav option.. i burned the disc with the alcohol software at low speed.. any suggestions????????
