help! what did i do wrong???
so i attempted to update my mk4 nav OS to v.27. I downloaded the software, unzipped it with tugzip, burnt it with alcohol at low speed (4X). i went to my car, turned the key to the first position, waited for the nav to boot up, took out the nav cd, put the v.27 in. Then the screen had some message that the software was being updated, and it went blank for like 5 minutes! i waited but still nada.. i tried pulling the cd out to retry it but it wont spit it out now.. my screen goes to the menu but its grey and theres no navi option.. what the heck did i do and how can i fix this??
only possible thing i can think i did wrong is: the cd wasnt high quality enough, and maybe i should have unplugged the nav tv unit from the system? i dunno, please help guys ! |
Sounds like the image was corrupted when being burnt to cd, or the cd is rubbish quality.
Use a quality brand cd and burn at x1 speed only, and make sure there are no smudges or scratches on the disc surface. I use ultraiso for the burning and I have had no problems. Also you might want to try v28. There is a procedure for ejecting the disc somewhere, try a search. Hope this helps. |
Look at post #3 http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...i-recover.html Also read carefully these instructions. http://www.xoutpost.com/pdf/v28.pdf
