X5 ,2003 ( mk-4 GPS SW4-1/70 ) Slept in the garage 3 weeks.
Now GPS unit is able to read only CD (maps ets) ...
MK-4 is DVD disk capable to read..BUT how ever ,when I input dvd disk with 2006-2 version screen show me 2 lines can not read and there is no disk in ..! When I put CD version with maps it's again working OK - by showing normal funcionality.
Any ideas about this tipe of ocasion ? Happy Hollidays to All!

Not normal, assuming you are using an actual Navteq DVD and not a burned copy. 2 suggestions. One, make sure the DVD is good by trying a known good one. Two, if 1 fails then have the dealer look at it. A 2003 should still be under warranty.

#2 Should SW4-1/70 read latest version 2007.1 navtech dvd (MK-4 ) or I should request to apdate software at BMW dilership before they will try....OR all of the above?

dilership in SF made update of the program SW4-1/80- read now .And I decided to buy a new 2007.1 and added new disk inside.
It works normally without visible troubles. thanks Jeff !
ps warranty gone !
