Yeha, great info Kiwi...thanks a lot.
In fact, navi seems doesn't communicate with central unit anymore. Do you really think, in your experience, trying with a mode2 burnt cd my navi comes alive? Hi great  |
Hi Jammy
it's true, above v22, sw version doesn't change. Thnks |
Yes, your Mk3 will come alive again.
Get these tools: 1. mode2cdmaker v1.5.1 from http://es.geocities.com/dextstuff/mode2cdmaker.html Get the binary file, you don't need the source files. 2. Also get the GUI from UbiK v1.6, at same place. 3. Get ImgBurn from http://www.imgburn.com/ Install all of these. Then you need the modified mode2cdmaker.exe from me. The modified version writes the correct TOC. I can email this to you. Replace the standared mode2cdmaker.exe with the new one. Then to make a good Mk3 OS CD: 1. Use mode2cdmaker to make a new disc image. Use these options: Do not set FORM2 (files names not bold) File names = ASCII Single Track, Keep Extension, View Prompt = all not ticked Image type = BIN/CUE Volume name = NAV_OS (important!) Form2 ext = dat 2. Burn and verify the image with ImgBurn. Burn at slowest speed. Use a slow speed CD-R only. Mk3 cannot read CD-RW. When you open your image with ImgBurn, before you burn it, it will show Sectors: xxxxx (MODE2/FORM1/2352) Hopefully you will get zero errors after the verfiy, but I had 9 errors with my media, but OS still worked OK. Volume name = NAV_SW (important!) But it is correct in your other instructions. And yes, it does work  |
Oops - sorry everyone, Jammykam is right. NAV_SW for the OS disk, NAV_DB for the map data disk
|
Will MAP/ROADMAP CD-R's with MODE1 will work on MKIII or must that be also MODE2 ?
|
Map can be Mode1 although i note originals are actually Mode2.

Can someone help me?
I have followed the procedure described above but when I insert the cd he immediately goes out. I am sure not to have mistaken anything! I have created the image with m2cdmgui.exe as described by Jochen and then burnt with ImgBurn but nothing, it doesn't work. |
