updated to v28: no zip code entry?
 

Hey everyone-

So I just updated the M3's nav computer to v28. The installation was DEFINITELY successful (all the correct confirmation screens, perspective mode now active, correct version number indicated, etc.) however I still can only seem to enter destinations by city name, and NOT by zip code.

ALSO: the only POI on the map are restaurants i think ..... how do i show other icons like gas stations, ATMs, etc?

Tried searching but couldn't find such information..... thanks!

What version of the Map data do you have?

In the UK Postcode (Zipcode) search is only available from 2006-1 (I think) onwards if you also have v28 software.

ah, good point- i have older map data (2004?). how do i update that (without paying $200!!)?

You don't!

In the USA ..... it was version 27 when the seach by zip code was introduced. However to take advantage of it, you need to use map disk 2006.2 or higher.

To change the POI icon on the map, goto information, search by location ... city .... and then choose a category. Whatever the last seach was, will display the relevant icon on the map.
