GPS problems

I have MK3 Navigation system. About 4 weeks ago, I had a dead battery and all the lights on the cluster instrument were off. The NAV GPS has not worked properly since that day. The North South indicator pointed in the wrong direction, for example pointing South instead of North. The GPS locators does not seem to work properly, it shows the car's position at a completely different area than the area I live. I am able to restore the function of the lights on the cluster but the Navigation and GPS system are still not working properly. Anybody has this problem or have any idea how to fix this? TIA.

I would try to reset the Mk3 by doing this:

Turn off and take out the key, wait until the red light on the MK3 is OFF, and then disco the batt or pull the fuse for the Nav, wait 1-2 mins, and reconnect the batt.

Sometimes a dead batt will do all kinds of strange things.

Good luck.

And remember after you've reset the nav, park it outside, with good GPS reception, and leave ign in pos1 for 10min.

Check in the service menu that you have your almanac and good satellite reception, and that HDPO, VDOP and PDOP are all good - around <2 is good.
