Problem with MKIII
Hello everybody. I'm writing from italy and i hope to find some replay :-D
I have a not working mk3 module which I would like to try to fix: the problem seems to depend on a wrong software update. Its power led doesn't turn on and when I insert a cd with the V17.1 updater the drive engine runs a little but very slowly an it stops almost immediately. Do you think it could be a software-related problem ( wrong update) or a hardware one (faulty drive engine)? Can the module software be updated in another way? I hope you can help me. |
A Mk3 will crash when loading software from a Mode1 CD.
Make sure your CD is Mode2/Form1 and try again. Check disc format in Nero InfoTool or Imgburn If that doesn't work, then your Mk3 must be faulty. |
The CD with V17.1 is in mode2 but when I insert the engine drive don't start but runs a little but very slowly an it stops almost immediately.
Can i program the MK3 with I-Bus? Is possible copy a pair of good eproms on the bad eproms? Sorry for my english! |
OK, you may have a corrupted EEPROM. You can try copying contents from another Mk3 EEPROM, a friend of mine has done this and it worked. I have never had to try.
You cannot program over the ibus when the nav is not working. |
Hi everybody,
I've fixed the faulty mk3 by changing the cd drive. This way i could upload firmware V17 ad after that V22.1. I've another similiar mk3 with the following problem: The cd engine works and the power led is on but the display remains blank. If I try a software update cd the disc goes on spinning but notthing else happens. Any suggestions? (the cd drive is working well so that's not where the problem is) |
I have a Mk3 with exactly the same faulty - I think it is dead/corrupted main board :-(
