Not sure about Navunit
 

Hi people,

I have a Navcomputer partnumber: 6590 6922720-00
I think it is monochrome but i am not sure its mk3 or mk4
I can't get it coded for color monitor and now im doubting about the version!
When i read the unit with navcoder it says mk1,mk2,mk3 but based on this number and after a search on the net its listed with the mk4

I tried to convert it to color with the modified cd's for mk3/mk4 as written by Kiwijochen but wenever i put in a modified os disc it keeps spinning and im having a hard time to get them out, after that i cannnot read nav settings with navcoder until i reload an original os disc (not modified)

So i'm stuck and don't know what else to do
The modified os disc for mk4 i downloaded here but could not get it to write in mode2/form1
The modified os disc for mk3 i modded myself following the instructions in this forums and are written in mode2/form1

A Mk VI will have the DVD symbol just below the disk slot. Your description of getting the disk stuck in sounds like what happens with a Mk III if you have a Mode 1 firmware disk.

That's what i thought about the dvd logo, but i doubted because the partnumber!
Im pretty sure i have written the os disc in mode 2 and therefore i must have done someting wrong with the modding, i made 3 discs but al the same problem and imgburn shows its mode 2
So if anybody would upload a working os disc for mono 2 color on a mk3, i would mostly be thankfull for that!!!!

That is a monochrome Mk3 nav. I am 100% sure :-)

I followed this instructions:

Use a v22 OS.
Replace all files:
csb 0100 BMWM01S
with:
cdb 0100 BMWC01S
you must include subdirectories.

Replace:
cdb 0200 BMWM01S
with:
cdb 0200 BMWC01S

Replace:
Mk3 0103 BMWM01S
with:
Mk3 0103 BMWC01S
Do the same thing with directories 0116 y 0127.
You must include subdirectories.

Delete the following directories:
langMk2
Mk2C
Mk2m
V_2

IMPORTANT: Create the image, use the procedure related by KiwiJochen on the following thread:

I replaced this files and subdirectories with magiciso like you said
Then i burn the image with imgburn and in the program it says mode2, but when i put in the disc it spins a verry long time (20min or longer) and i have a hard time to get the disc out!
When i let navcoder scan, the unit its not detected.
Then i put in an v29.1 disc, the procedure works fine and navcoder detects the unit again.
I modified v19 v22 several times but always get the same problems.
Any suggestions?
I think its the writing because several people told me this looks like a problem when you put mode1 disc in a mk3 unit
