Strange Nav issue, won't eject DVD, asks for Code
 

I am having this strange issue ONLY with 2 of the 06 production date MK4 I have (I think it's the units, since one of them I used the BMW original 27.1 and the other I downloaded a 27.1) , all the other
older MK4 unit didn't have the issue.

I just installed and upgraded to a Mk4(From Mk3, later 01 production x5), also upgraded to a BMW original 27.1 disc, everything went well. The only strange thing is when I finished upgrade the O.S. I got a message like Nav locked or something, but again everything works fine, even got the 3D graphics.

The problem I have it when I try to eject the DVD map, I get this screen on the monitor asking for a 4 digit code. I don't think it's the radio code, since the radio works fine as well, and I can also make this screen go away by press enter without entering any digit.

However, everytime I try to eject the disc, I get this screen and the disc won't come out, like it's locked in the Nav drive.

I took it to my good dealer today, they didn't have any idea either, but are looking into it for me.

I wonder if there is a security option that will prevent someone from taking a disk?

Again, the Mk4 work fine and normal.

I've never seen this before!! Interesting... have you tried the usual codes - like 0000, 1234, 9999 ?

It looks like the screen where you enter the engine immobilizer code

Well, I dunno if this helps, but here are the messages that are near this message in the nav software:

• "ENTER CODE"
• "Code incorrect"
• "Interlock cancelled. CD/DVD can now be ejected."
• "Navigation CD/DVD blocked"

So what exactly is "Interlock"?

Yes, the screen did say "Navigation CD/DVD blocked" when it first finished O.S. upgrade, then the message went away and I put in the map DVD, everything works normal, ONLY when I try to eject, the code screen pops up.

Your navigation unit from "RENT A CAR".
Read the CODE with GT1 (BMW SERVICE COMPUTER).
Your DEALER know clear this option (RENT).

Thanks for the great info, my dealer found the code for me, and it works great.

Have not hooked to the GT1 to disable the Interlock yet, at least I can used the code to unlock it for now.
