MK4 read error
 

Hi All

I have a Range Rover using a MK4 nav drive, it has 27.1 moded with a land rover splash screen and up till now have not had any problems with it, about three weeks ago I was traveling locally and the screen came up with cannot read disk, I’ am using a 2007-2 with speed cameras, I pressed the button to go back to the menu and the pressed map and I finished up with a screen that had the back ground but no roads on it. Replaced map for a 2007-1 that I have used for months with no problems all seamed ok till yesterday when the same thing happened, any one else had this problem or any ideas to the fault.

Try cleaning the laser. Typical symptoms of a weak/dirty laser.

Thanks for the quick reply are there any instructions on the procedure for cleaning the laser.

Use a laser cleaning disc, preferrably one that has a liquid cleaning solution. Look in computer or record stores.

Hi got a cleaning disc with a liquid cleaning solution and have run it this morrning, i will let you know if it has resolved my problems, thank for the advice.
