How about Pimp-My-Nav app?
anyone is using this tool to include personnal POI into your navigation map?
Looks like a nice tool from the website (http://pimp-my-nav.com) but haven't read anything about it on this forum.... |
It's great, I will make a review for it.
It has just official been released, that's why you did not red about it. POI's for dummy's :-) |
Thanks for this info.
Seems also to mee like the perfect tool for dummy.... such as me  |
does this procuct Really work???
Can i import like 300+ POI's????? |
Just used it to make my first disk including latest UK Speed Cameras and had no problems at all. Very good
|
Can you add POI using a backup Navigation Map Disk ?

The next question is then of course will it work with the next verison of map disc? (2008.1)
//Tobmag |
on the website FAQ, it says only works on original disk, but maybe as long as your map is not modified b4, it will work... but not 100% sure...
i'd hate to spend $40 and later find out my "not" original map won't work. |
Fair point about the orginal map requirement.
I have just sent an order anyway as it seems like a really nice tool. Will let you know more about it once received. |
Surely, the second that you use this software you are opting for the 'not original' disk use. Surely it must have to rip (from original), add poi, and burn the new compilation to a blank DVD ?!
I'm sure the BMW OEM DVD is not RW, to how the hell are you going to add the POIs to a read-only media ? Or have I missed something ? Cheers. Kev |
Make sense of course. Also keep in mind the developper cannot sell a product that would encourage the use of non-official DVD Map...
Seems strange to me that no one (or at least hasn't post any feedback) as got any experience about this application since it looks to be clearly much more convenient than any other methods as seen on every forum to add POIs |
The other thing that stops me from buying this straight away is that it can only show 1 category of speed cam....
i have POI files that are divided into different speed category.. also this means i can't show speed cam and redlight cam all at once... but can't blame the author for this as it's the limitation of MK4 |
ok so i have received the application through email last night (within 12 hours after the purchase) and tested it using a backup of European Map 2007-01... and it work all as described !
I have now an additionnal repertory named 'Speed Trap' with 4 categories of POI. Of course you cannot display all 4 categories of POI at once, but this has nothing to do with the app but with the Nav OS... I would definitively recommend this application for anyone like me who's been struggling with additionnal POI. |
seems like a good app, but no use here unfortunately:saad:
there is no full map of Estonia yet, only one city:D |

It seems that you will get the free upgrade, but can't remember where i have read this if on website or on an email when receiving the activation key.

Hello,
English : Thanks for this picture, it's seems to be a good software ! Does it really worth the price ? It is a little bit expensive. 20$ should be a good price. Can you add a picture in the POI search page ? ----------------- Bye Thomas |

of course 40$ may seems a bit high especially without any demo version to check, but i though i was going to try anyway despite no real review of this app available, now since using it i can really say it's worth the price . it's also worth considering you will also get the free update... on top of that the communication with the coder is great too.
|
Ok, thanks for your answer. I'll maybe buy it...

Was this back-up modified or "original". Would be nice to know if it really doesn’t work on a manually modded disc as it says on the homepage. //Tobmag |
I made the test with both and works in any case...
|
OK.
Thanks! //Tobmag |
i purchased this software and it was easy to use. I made a backup of my nav disk and used that. I would reccommend this software.
|
I have been using this tool for few weeks now without any issues...but really need an OS update for the POI display management. While driving the other day on the motorway displaying only the fixed speed trap, got caugh by a mobile unit  . TMC info use different type of Logos so there must be a way around to display different type of POI.

Other than that, it`s very good and works well. |

I downloaded "all" camera's as a single file inc redlight and mobile. Its shows them all now albeit with a single icon but at least you know where they all are, accurate too:thumbup: EDIT.. I added to a modified disc,no problems. |

The purchase page states "Please allow 48 hours for delivery after payment has been received." So the fulfillment of your order inside 24hours, including the key is reasonable, isn't it? Cheers |

I can see why the software uses the challenge method but my system uses server authentication every week, if they use a dodgy code or use it on too many machines at once, it gets turned off until they can validate their use. Just my thoughts anyway.. Thanks. |
Looks pretty cool. I am not completely sold on it, as of yet though.
Do the new images sow up on the map only in "Persepective View" or do they show up in the normal arial view as well? Can you also enhance other catagories of POIs for newer resturants and such? It would be nice if it could add street names to "Perspective View" |
