Munich - 11/23/2007- BMW for the first time offers for the 1-series and 3-series, a specially configured mobile navigation system for retrofitting. The BMW Portable navigation differs by marketing design, the BMW lettering on the case, while a switching BMW logo, and a variety of useful features from other, available on the market devices. The new BMW Portable navigation was developed in collaboration with the renowned navigational equipment manufacturer Garmin, and is based on the model Garmin 360.
The mobile navigation unit is equipped with a safe cockpit bracket made especially for the 1 and 3 series models of the BMW. The device is unlike conventional, as it has suction cups for the inside of the windshield-fortifies product directly above the interior bar or on the dashboard whichever is appropriate. There is the 3.5-inch touchscreen vibration read and convenient use. The retrofitting can without much effort at the BMW service partners.
The special holder for the navigation device comes with no exposed cables from the power supply via the BMW board network ensures the integrated charge batteries during the trip. For equipment with the device includes a Bluetooth handsfree via integrated speaker and microphone, MP3 and Hörbuch-Player-, a currency converter and a photo viewer function. Moreover, the BMW navigation device can be used outside of the vehicle for four to six hours as a mobile city map.
The destination route can be displayed in either two - or three-dimensional display. The language hints includes street names. Besides maps for the whole of Europe, it also has BMW Dealers in the navigation unit. The selling price for the mobile BMW navigation device is 476, - Euro (incl. VAT).
