MK3 left in darkness
 

I have a BMW MK3 sat nav unit which was on version SW 3-150.

I wanted to upgrade my firmware and used a download from www.simplymini.info with v26 files (this should take a MK3 to v22).

I popped in the CD, watched the "loading software" screen before my screen went black, and is now permanently black. After some struggle I managed to eject my CD but now I am left in eternal darkness on my screen :(

Can anyone help me?

You can try to bring it to life with this http://www.megaupload.com/se/?d=38K1ILCU for some reason this is the best try for dead MK III

You probably burnt a Mode1 CD. This will crash the nav

You can only load software from a Mode2/Form1 ISO image.
Check in ImgBurn that the image is the correct format

Throw away the Mode1 CD, burn a Mode2/Form1 CD, and the nav will come back to life.
