NAV Switched language! HELP!!

Hey. I just took my V.31 upgrade NAV and changed some strings so the text would be different and changed the splash screen. I also used a Hex editor to change the "version" so it looks like V.32 so I wouldnt have to downgrade. Well... I just put in the disk and updated and it looks like it changed all my text menus into Spanish? and my new splash isent there... I went into the settings which is now called configurio or whatever in spanish haha. I looked to see if I could change the language and I cant!! Anyone have this problem or can help me!? Thanks so much!!

Did you find the answer? Your thread doesn't seem to have a solution for our problem..

It's BMW's "hacker protection" at work

Load the standard softare and I bet it will be OK :-)

Okay, I'll try that. Also I have heard people say that you can go to the dealer and they can recode it for you, or you can code it yourself using navcoder? Does anyone have step by step instructions on using navcoder? thanks!

NavCoder is easy to use:
1. Select languages
2. Click the 'Code' button
3. Insert OS CD when prompted and follow onscreen instructions

Try it! You can download and install it easily on any PC, for free, and then explore all options at your leisure, without being connected to your car.

Don't you have to hook your laptop into the car to use navcoder? Maybe I'm wrong... thanks for the info tho.

You gotta be connected to the car , but You can try out NavCoder ( just look through the options to see what it can do ) without hooking up to your BMW - I guess that's what was on Jochen's mind .
