HELP!!! Stripprd Screw Head

Well, I have completely stripped the head of one of the screws that hold my nav monitor (screen) in palce. What can I do to extract the screw?

I cannot find any extractor that does not require the use of a power drill and there is no way I'll use a drill because there is no clearance there and certainly it would be too close to the monitor.

Does any one have any suggestions?????

Thanks in advance for your help.

Interior screws are not in very tight so you can try epoxy on a stick and glue the stick to the head of the screw. I have done it with JB weld and managed to get a screw out. The key is not to rush the process and let the glue dry 100%.

Hmmmm...

I can certainly glue a screwdriver to the screw using JB weld. However, I don' t think taht steady a hand to hold the screwdriver in place until the glue has 100% cured. Any trick I can use?

Thats the hardest part, use something light like a stick or dowel, they will be easier to figure out how to keep secure as the glue dries. I used a thick foam and pushed the stick in the foam and then taped the foam to the dash. Foam will hold it the best I think.

Good Luck, thats problem sucks.

Is the screw imbedded or can you get to the head. If so, try a small set of needle nosed vice grips. you could tie strings to the visors to support the screwdriver if you try the JB weld trick. Can you get a very small cutter on a Dremel tool and make a screwdriver slot?
