Hi,

this is the first time I'm using the Navcoder and I'm struggling to install it.

I keep getting the "runtime error saying COMDLG32.OCX is missing" but the only file included is MSCOMM32.OCX. I've installed this as per the readme file but it still does work.

Any advice welcome.

Rgds,

Kam

MSCOMM32.OCX and COMDLG32.OCX
This app requires that MSCOMM32.OCX and COMDLG32.OCX be installed and registered on your PC.
If you get a runtime error saying MSCOMM32.OCX or COMDLG32.OCX are missing, do this:
Copy the file MSCOMM32.OCX or COMDLG32.OCX to your Windows/System directory

Windows XP:
Register the file as follows:
* Click "Start" then "Run..."
* Type "cmd" then hit Enter to open the Command prompt window
* Type "regsvr32 mscomm32.ocx" or "regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx" as required and hit enter
* You should see confirmation that the OCX was properly registered.

You can get the OCX files here:
http://www.afreeocx.com/ocx/info/comdlg32_ocx.html
http://www.afreeocx.com/ocx/info/mscomm32_ocx.html

Great Job Jochen. Thanks for great Software.

Mayby in near Future You can programming NavCoder for Fog Lamps Front and US DayLight.....

coolshark 06-08-2008 09:26 AM

I just downloaded NavCoder 2.4.0. Great job, Jochen!
Just one thing, please please please upgrade the LCM part with the ability to disable front fog lights monitoring! That warning is driving me crazy!
And one last request: is there any way to disable tire pressure monitoring via IBUS?

TV while moving

Hi,

I just downloaded and registered this product, because I wish to enable TV while in motion feature - but I can't get it to work :(

I can read the setting - and after I've coded it, NavCoder shows that the setting is correctly configured (TV while in motion is enabled) - but TV blanks when I drive my car... :dunno:

I have excellent connection with the IBUS, and other functions work ok (tried to set the time in the car using NavCoder, which worked just fine).

Anyone else had problems with the TV in motion setting?

My car is a 2004 E46.

Please help

Andrej_E39_535ia 06-09-2008 02:18 PM

after coding tv module must be "cold" started - turn off ignition and wait until nav and tv modules shut off

ccfj1 06-09-2008 03:06 PM

As andrej says, wait for an ibus shutdown and they try.

Oh, welcome to the forum :)

And TV doesn't turn off untill the GM shuts off power to all devices, that can take up to 15 minutes. (depends on what model/version of TV module you have)

tobias 06-10-2008 02:40 AM

TV works!

Hey - just a follow-up - having patience with the damn thing worked ;)

Thanks!

Now... where to find a cheap DVB-T tuner...? :D

Which kind of pressure monitoring system do you have? Wheel sensors or just ABS?

Seedar 06-16-2008 07:17 AM

Trailer lights

Hi, does anyone know if you disable the monitoring of the trailer lights (I have a trailer with LED lights) whether it will make the indicators (turn signals) flash at the normal rate instead of double speed ? My 2004 X5 doesn't recognise that the LED lights are working as they dont draw enough current.

If so its time for me to register and make a IBUS plug ! ;)

thanks,
Seedar.

I have Tire Pressure Control (RDC) with wheel sensors. I have just upgraded from 16in wheels to 18in M double-spoked wheels. I have relocated the sensors to the new wheels but the system is bothering me ever since. It keeps saying "Tire control inactive!". I have tried activating the system numerous times, exactly as it says in the manual but no success.
The "stealer" said the wheel sensors may be old and may need replacement but I doubt that, they were working perfectly with my other wheels.
Until I find a solution to this problem I would like to disable the system completely.
(sorry for the off-topic)

One more question: for example, there is one navi unit MK3 (i think in MK4 is the same). As a default it has Fr and Eng languages.... I'm making the customisation by changing this set of languages to Us and Ger..... and then next time when new navi SW would be released (or updating from 3-1/62 to 3-1/63) this custom set of langueages will stay or I should again fix this by NavCoder (or other soft)?

ccfj1 06-20-2008 03:38 AM

Not sure about the MK3, but I would assume it's the same as the MK4, anyway, the languages on the MK4 stay as you have set them, I have UK (F) US (F) and GER (F), and they have been like that since v28.

HTH

Scuba 06-20-2008 03:53 AM

Thank's for the answer! ;-)

So you've changed it once and since then it stay the same after next updates, correct?

kooi72 06-20-2008 04:00 AM

I changed it to Eng, Ger, Dutch (I think I had that time v29) and I had no problems after update to v31. :2thumbs:

Where can i buy the NavCoder software ? How much will it cost ?
What hardware do i need to use with Navcoder ? (serviceplug ?)

Are there any screenshots of the program somewhere.

I would like to buy it for changing the language of the NAV system.

I suppose this software can do that :bustingup

You need an I-bus interface, there is a simple circuit layout in the zip file , it costs pennies to make, or buy one from restler (approx 40 euros, do a google search).

Download and try it, it's very easy to use.

Yes, it does.

Scuba 06-27-2008 02:34 AM

I would say like this:

You can dowload unregistered version of NavCoder free of charge from here http://www.xoutpost.com/477895-post1.html . Unregistered version works but some functions are disabled. To register NavCoder (to enable this functions) you should pay 20Euro (detailed procedure is in Help file of the program)

Regarding hardware - ccfj1 gave alredy the answer

Good luck!

I get navcoder and I installed it in both my ///M3 and a laptop with XP. The program seems to be working ok, but when I try to read any module it gets me timeout...

Any reason why?

Yes, but note the following:

Standard BMW Os disc has dutch voice only. All text stays in another language (I think default German)

Even if you use NavTweak and edit text to Ducth, some text (check control display, telephone) stays in German because the text is generated by different control units (not by the nav)

Normal reasons:

1. Bad ground connection between interface and car

2. Using a USB to serial converter, these cause problems

If your laptop only has a USB port and no serial port, then get the Resler USB interface from www.reslers.de

Aargh - I just checked.

Standard BMW mk3 OS has de, es, it, fr, gb, usa

NL is added for Mk4 OS

So for Mk3 you have to use the copy-and-rename method.

eg: if you want English text + Dutch instructions:

Copy the dutch voice language and rename it to the english voice file

Reload English to the nav.

NavCoder is useful because you can tell it to force-load a new OS.

LKM Coding issues - E83/X3

Jochen,

Just had a play with using the LKM coding option on my E83. Reads the module OK, but had a very strange issue - the 'cold monitor' of rear blinkers is off by default so I switched it on. This caused the front main blinker on the LH side to stop working.

Initially this threw me as I thought it was a bulb out and couldn't understand why the warning didn't come up, but after testing the bulb & was found to be OK, I undid the change and it started working again.

Don't have a Navcoder loig I'm afraid ... but can probably get one if you need it. The LKM is for a 2005 X3 with adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights (if that helps).

I'll check the whole connections, but I have the usb interface

Anyway... it is rare if the Navcoder gets "Device status ready" and later you cannot "Read identity"... :dunno:

Thanks!
Manu.

There are 4 generations of the LCM modules, it's hard for me to cater for them all - hence my little 'warning' message :-)

It is still a work in progress.... so bear with me if little issues like yours appear.

You are right. Case 1: no ground connection was the reason, now it works!!

Apologies for any inconvenience and best regards,

I got Navcoder and made an interface the other day to fix my trailer with LED lights causing warnings from my X5. The reading and programming worked fine, but...

For anyone interested if you disable the trailer light monitor (so that you can use a LED light equipped trailer) then the warning messages go away but your indicator lights still flash at twice normal speed.

cheers,
Seedar.
