You probably burnt the CD in Mode1 format, which will crash a Mk3.

You need to burn a CD again, using an image burning program that will properly create a Mode2/Form1 format.

I recommend ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com)

Burn at the minimum speed supported by the CD. ImgBurn will show you the speeds.

After the burn you should check for errors and do a surface scan to make sure the disk is good.

Then insert the disk, cross fingers and wait.

Check what version is loaded:
MENU - Settings - Look in top right corner.
3-1/63 is the last version ever produced for the Mk3 by BMW.
If you have 3-1/63 loaded then you have the best already. You cannot improve it.

3-1/63 is the best version, you should load it. Once you have 3-1/63 loaded, the nav is at the best software version it can ever be.

Maps must be made to comply with CARINDB map format.
The only company that knows that format is VDO.
Only VDO can make the maps.

1. Disconnect your navi-unit from the cables (from the behind)
2. Wait 15-20 min
3. Connect again
4. Repeatedly press Eject button (or press and hold) - disc should be ejected
5. Download 100% working navi soft for example from here http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-sy...available.html
6. Burn it on a lowest speed
7. Ignition to 1, SW CD into navi...... "cross fingers and wait"(c) KiwiJochen;)

Good luck
