Nav Newbie here need help

Hi im new to this site and I was wondering how do get the 3D view on the navigation screen. I just updated my mk4 to v31 with no problem thanks to everyone here but cant figure out how to change to 3D view. Do I have to buy the lastest navi disk or no. I have a 04 bnavi disk by the way.
Thanks,
Christian

Don't know the answer but will tune in to see what others say. I can't believe that the NAV is as poor as it is for the money that BMW charges. I have a lot of suggestions on how to improve it - like copy TomTom or Garmin!

Stop trying to compare a 2001 improvement on a 1994 design (VDO-Mk4 nav) with the latest 2007 design (TomTom). You can never win when you complain that a 10-year old design is worse than todays design. Of course that's the case. It will always be true.

The BMW nav costs similar to other fixed car systems - my VW nav is a 4,000 Euro option.

Enable 3D in the service menu, then you can switch to 3D view in the user menu.

Go to Set, Hold the MENU button for about 10 sec, then the Service Menu appears. Scroll Down to Perspective and turn it on.
Go back to MENU and Navigation and you can choose at Map Direction the Perpective mode.
