I have MK4 with UK voice
 

I would like to change this to USA english. How do I go abouts doing this? I also have the standard =BMW= splash screen. I tried installing the v31 ///M from the M5 boards but for some reason, it didn't take up the new software. Is it b/c I need the V31+?

To change voice simply use NavCoder and select which 3 of the 7 standard language you want loaded. You can also ensure the Mk4 is coded for your vehicle at the same time

As for loading a special splash screen OS, remember that the nav will only load a new OS if the version number is different from the currently loaded OS.

Have a look and see what version is on the M5 board OS disc and compare.

I had already loaded v31 so I think if I load v31+ then it will load the new image right? I'm going with the medium ///M.

shit, I'm on a mac. I gotta find my Thinkpad for this one.

And yeah, I got this out of an M3 off ebay so go figure it was coded all weird. I know it says 3 series coupe under the config files. Guess I better change it back!

V31 is the version of the OS disc, not the version of the nav
You loaded 4-1/100 from the V31 OS. You did not load V31.

To load any other OS version you need to insert an OS CD that contains a version of the nav OS that is not 4-1/100 - either higher or lower - and then the nav OS will load.

As 4-1/100 is the current nav version, if you wish to change nav versions you must go backwards:
V32 = 4-1/100
V31 = 4-1/100
V30 = 4-1/91
V29 = 4-1/91
V28 = 4-1/80
etc
