I faced similar problem with NavTweak with some changing. I think the reason was that NavTweak don't like to save navboot file, which was cheated with POISoN.
So my decision was to take original navboot file, then make all changes with NavTweak and save it. And hack it with Nomad's tool after all only.

Good work! Could you please make the modified rom_col files available for download? Would be great, because I already did my own modifications and would only like to add the nightview. BTW, it's nice to switch between POI warning and "normal" voice, but the VR-voice, menu of map dvd (and language on instrument cluster on E39 etc.) changes as well. I wonder if this could be resolved by Navcoder, e.g. by coding the Nav to German/German/German?

jom, you should just cut off all voices from your CD or DVD map expect German. Thus changing between POI warning and "normal" will be OK with your one language.

To ccfj1:

I've found a little bug. When you come to crossroad you can see on your map that some directions are not allowed marked with red colour:

But here blue colour is instead of red:

Thanks, yes I see, I'll have a look at it.

What I've done is to change (navcoder) the 2nd (off) language to USA and then copy and rename an unmodded uk.csf file to the usa.csf, this allows the nav voice to be the same (UK-f, but um-modded) but the VR to be USA-f, it's not ideal, but since the default will always be "alerts on" the problem will only be a small one.

If you load the nav unit with German/German/German it uses the same for for all 3.

Since the POI warnings require you to mod your own languages, I will not be providing a modded image with the POISon hack with it installed (or the modded text), for me to modify all variations of languages out there would be a monumental task, so I've only done it for UK versions of the image, uk forum members who want it, PM me.

I will be posting up 2 images,

1: OEM (splash, pointers but with modded sky and with night mode (modded text), this will look like and OEM install image, and
2: my modded image (M splash, sky, pointers and night mode, modded text).

I will probably make the images mode2/form1 so anyone who uses it in a mk3 will not crash their drive, in fact i will mod the mk3's 2nd colour to night as well I think.

I will also upload the modded colour schemes so that you can import them into you own navboot files (as requested).

Hi, just a question from an italian mate working on the x3 navi system... I guess the language of your modded firmware is english and this is not a problem for me, but is there any possibility to integrate your modding in the italian language firmware version?

Yes use download file 3, this is just the files for the 2nd colour scheme (brown -> night), and use navtweak to import into your modded navboot file (first tab, modules), it has a modded sky as well).

I'd recommend, doing all the mods from a fresh copy of the navboot, so, do the mods, then do the POISon hack last, then drag n drop into a OS image and the burn.

Thx for your helpful infos :D, BTW I need some studies before applying on the practical side. I just downloaded NAVCORE and now I need to "register" :dunno: it before using. Is there any alternative procedure instead of using navcore, or do u have any suggestions where to "update" my knowledge..
