Black screen after trying to update a MKIII

Hello,

I tryed to update my MKIII navigation system (Mini cooper 2002) with V32 and I now have a black screen!
Did I forgot something? How can I have my GPS working again?

Thanks a lot!

You used a mode1 disc when you should have used a mode2, burn another disc with the correct mode and try the updated again.

P.S welcome to the forum.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
The problem is that there is noting on the screen anymore.
I burned the disc with a Mac and disk utility, is the "mode 2" an option of a specific software?

Don't worry about the blank screen yet, if you load a good version of the OS in the mk3 it "should" come back to life.

It's the way that the disc is "made", download and burn this one at the slowest speed rated for the blank cd.

Thanks a lot. I succeeded burning a CD a my GPS is back!
Anyway, I can't see any changes with the last update. Is the 3D view available on a MK III?

Glad it's back.

There have not been any changes for the mk3 since 8/2003, this unit is not being. supported with updates now.

3d is not available for the mk3 only the mk4.

Check your installed software version: have a look in the top right corner of the Settings screen

The last ever version made for the Mk3 was 3-1/63
There is nothing newer.

Thanks again. This is fine for me. I was just curious to see if I could have something better but even if it looks a bit old, the navigation works great.

Hi I tried to update a MKIII to MKIV in a 2003 Range rover and all i got was a black screen. The the unit changed all my setting including the language to german but all i had was a black screen. Is there something wrong with my car or is it the satnav i cannot check as i had sold the MKIII before getting the MKIV

Kind Regards

Johnny

The Mk4 is probably coded for Mono, or has no OS loaded.

Use NavCoder to recode Mono to Colour
With NavCoder you can also load the languages of your choice
NavCoder is here:

Hi everyone,

I have a MCS with an MKIII nav system, after I tried to update it to v32 I also got a black screen and I cannot manage to get a good CD to make it work again. I have downloaded many different versions and no luck. Does anybody can tell me where can I download a good version and how do I need to burn the CD.

Thanks
