Help with navi

My little brother made a copy navigation dvd for me from his 08 M3, but when i install in the navi dvd in my 03 4.6is it doesn't work. It there anything i need before that?

The 2008 M3 map format is totally different to the 2003 X5, as the M3 has the next generation nav system to the X5. Maybe even 2 generations higher.

The maps are not compatible.

Did your lil brother try that copy
in his 08 M3?
