Ebay or a dealer ... though ebay are much cheaper, they are pretty scarce. I was just lucky with mine as I got it at a very good price on a Buy-it-Now about 5 mins after the guy posted it up :D

Most on ebay seem to be £500+

BMW Videomodul analog digital hybrid E38 E39 E46 E53 Z4 on eBay (end time 30-Jul-09 11:43:54 BST)

BMW DIGITAL HYBRID TV TUNER 16:9 FOR E38/E39/E46/X5 on eBay (end time 29-Jul-09 19:13:35 BST)

You'll have to be quick on this though as it ends soon.

Mine was a straight plun-n-play swap. Albeit quite tricky to actually physically swap the modules over in the X3 because of where it is and how the mounting frame and bolts are accessible (or not). To do it right needs the whole of the trim on one side of the boot to be removed.

We don't have full DVB-T broadcast services in the UK yet, and most transmitters are running on low power until 'Digital Switch-over' which is a long drawn out affair (well, this is the UK after all  ) that is done by region. We won't get DSO'd until March 2010. So, using it whilst moving is pretty poor to be honest, but then the Analog wasn't much better really. Oh, and of course it's illegal here (like most things now!)

Curious where the TV module fits in the X3? I purchased one a while ago thinking it was plug n play (like in my E46) but don't know where to fit it. I currently have NAV, Sirius Radio and BT in my 2006 E83.

It fits in a bracket underneath the Mk4 Nav Computer. There are two variants of bracket, one WITH tuner, and one WITHOUT tuner. See here...

RealOEM.com BMW E83 X3 3.0i Navigation system

The bracket you need is 65103405144 as this has the extra bit on it. The tuner fits in sideways with the plugs to the LH side (back of the car).

Wondering if you have a picture. It looks to be like a whole different bracket assembly that would hold the NAV unit, Sirius tuner and the TV module below. I've taken it apart so many times that I am wondering how the TV tuner module would fit (looks like it would be a tight fit indeed). Here is a picture of my X3 setup. I can visualize an assembly a little bit higher and wider. Ideally a do-all bracket would be even better. One that would fit the NAV computer, Sirius tuner, DVD player and TV tuner. Can I go to US dealer and order said bracket? The only thing is that I do not see the Sirius tuner bracket in the link provided and wondering how that too would fit?

Pete,
I'll try and get a photo for you. We don't have Sirius in the UK, but I have checked on RealOEM.com for the US market and the brackets are the same as the link I posted. The bracket you show, with the box below the Nav isn't listed. The TV Tuner on mine fits flush up under the MkIV sideways on, with the cables on the LH side.

I don't think with your setup, you'd be able to install the tuner in the OEM brackets, but you may have a Nav/TV/Sirius bracket available from a US dealer. Suggest you get an up-to-date copy of the ETK which may have more info than RealOEM.com.
