Problem with MK4 sat nav..

Hi everyone,

I have a big problem with a friend of mine MK4 sat nav, it will not take the disc in anymore, it starts getting in and then stops at halfway, looks like it bumps into something... I removed the unit to compare it with mine, turn it upside-down to see if there is something blocking or moving in there, heard and saw nothing. To mention also that unit was working fine 3 weeks ago when was updated.

Anybody had this problem with an MK4 sat nav before?

any advise or sugestion is welcome. Thanks.

Open the unit as described in my DIY. Then you can also remove the DVD drive and exchange it if necessary.

so basically the unit' drive also handles the loading mechanism?

The unit (MK4) has the DVD drive inside.
The DVD drive is called "DVD-M3-4.6".The DVD drive may be bought as a complete unit. It costs about 130 euros. Sources: see my DIY

Many thanks, I totally undrestand that, but I'm pretty sure the drive and laser are working just fine, can I buy only the disc loading mechanism, or is it part of the drive?

The disc loading mechanism is part of the drive (DVD-M3-4.6).
