Suddenly my MK IV Nav seems not able to find GPS Signal.

Either the GPS antenna or the GPS module, try the antenna first, it's the cheapest, approx EU10 of ebay (any SMB female plug should be fine).

What car is that in, I've not seen the temp displayed there before??

Thanks for your Answer. So i will check the Antenna first.
My Car is a Mini Cooper, i think the Temperature is displayed threr through the Car Computer.

ANT SHORT is the clue.

In means the antenna cable is shorted.

This could be a loose connector, poorly fitted connector, damaged cable, faulty antenna or faulty receiver

Go through in that order.

Does anybody know where the cables for GPS antenna are routed inside the mini?
The Shark Antenna of mine is just for gps and phone signals i guess because there is a window antenna at the right back window.

Perhaps there are some maps for wiring available at the internet? Unfortunately i could not found this yet.

Don't know on a mini mate?

Have you checked and cleaned the connection on the back of the mk4 yet??

imola 12-03-2009 05:02 AM

No, i'm the only mini driver in my circle of friends.

I will try to clean all accessible connections soon. Unlikely no easy work because i will have to remove the front passanger seat to get access of the mk iv unit. But i'm familar to this procedure.

The WDS says the antenna is under the dash cover. You may have to fish around up inside the dash for the the antenna if it has a separate plug at the antenna itself. Try the nav box antenna plug first.

I will try to so this today. THANK YOU ALL so far!

I've first checked the plug of the MK IV device. Nothing found, problem still existent.
I will try to find out where the antenna cable is wired through the car an this diversity device. Perhaps i can find out something by this.

Is it possible to test the antenna at some point with a tool like circiut indicator?
