NavCoder has CSMA/CD deployed in software - I wrote it, based on the standardised CSMA description. CD doesn't really come into play, as there is no D. :-)

Looks like the nav unit from the x3

Yes. And what about the bus cable, there are two connectors one light blue and the other one purple...

The bus will be on the blue at a guess, the purple is for vehicle position stuff I think.

That is the GPS Navigation Computer, which does all the hard work reading maps and figuring out where you are.

The ibus can be seen, white/yellow/grey, on the blue connector

The nav bus is on pin 7 of the violett connector

Is there any problem or any "reset" procedure if/when unplugging the connectors?
As probably understood, I'm trying to connect diagnostic hardware to the bus and I do not want to damage anything in the car..THX

What I'm saying is there's a good chance it uses the same protocol as on the ibus and kbus

In that case, protocol is clearly understood, and command structure will be easy to determine

If the line uses ibus protocol, then NavCoder will show the data very easily.

So: Try and See!

Good Point! I'll give a try and see what happens!
