2010 Maps

Hi,

I've got the Professional Nav, controlled by the iDrive. (08 E70).

The 2010 map disk has been released - I understand I need the PRO version rather than the HIGH, is this correct?

Does anyone know if the 2010 map is available with the Speed cameras as POI's? (I understand this is about the only mod that can be made to my system)

I've 'found' the 2010 Pro disk but it doesn't have the Speed Cameras added. The file size is 4.7gb - is this likely the complete disk, e.g. as provided by the dealer, or has some content (languages, etc.) been removed to fit it onto a single sided DVD?

Thanks
Nick

You can add the POI's in yourself, but then would need to burn it to a Dual Layer DVD because the filesize would be extremely large. I hope I don't break any rules by linking to another forum, but this post should give you all the information you need.

BMW Pro 2010 Full POI upload - Gps Underground Forums

Just realized that the POI's are for the HIGH version, and according to them the icons won't display properly on the Pro version

Still cant get the right poi graphic to display.

I thought i would have a try at modifying the eng.lsc file myself and pointing to the standard PRO .gif files instead of the .png ones.

These nav discs really dislike me or i am doing something really daft. Every time i have tried to modify something myself, the disc is then un-readable. http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums...lies/frown.gif

I wonder if anyone has found a link to the FULL POI (with) Speedcams for the pro disc anywhere else yet. Would really like to get this working.

FYI - I tried the 2010 HIGH and added these POI for a friend who has a mk4 idrive system, all worked okay and his shows the POI icons no problem http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums...lies/frown.gif typical, cant get mine to work but can for everyone else.

Hi, thanks for the link.

Read through and came to the same conclusion that there's problems with the icon display.

Is the original 2010 disk 4.7gb or do the online versions have content removed?

Thanks
Nick

they are dual layer discs when you buy them from the dealer, and to fit onto single layer most language files will be removed. They usually leave english on the disc, so if you want a langauage other than english they wont be any good for you.

thanks for clarification.

I'm fine with English only - so long as the removed content is language based that would be fine. I'd ideally like all the POI's to still be included.

Thanks
Nick

If you delete all the languages you dont nedd, then you dont need a DL disc, it will fit onto a single layer DVD. Doesn't matter if it's +R or -R, just buy the tyoe that matches your burned. And 16x is not ok, you need to burn as slow as possible to improve the chances of the disc working.
