Determine Navigation Map Date and Version
Hello,
I was able to obtain a copy of BMW Navigation North America/Canada MAP DVD (unofficial way), the DVD suppose to be for 2009.1 but I am not sure if it is. Anyone know if there is a file or inside the DVD that will point to date of MAP? Thanks, B |
So, I just stole what I think is a fameous Michelangelo painting. Can anyone help me authenticate my painting so that I know if I have a real Michelangelo?

I was able to obtain a BMW M5 (unofficial way), the car suppose to be real M5 but I am not sure if it is.
Anyone know if there is a number or inside the engine that will point to type of car? |

If you put the disc in a PC (be careful, as you never know what sort of nasties people put in files on file-sharing sites), you should find a file named ABSTRACT in the root directory. While this doesn't have the 200x.y version number, it does tell you when the map was built. For example, the 2009.1 says: Code:
F:\>type ABSTRACT |

Plus, the Navteq thing is only temporary. BMW dealers will be releasing disk updates very soon. |
Apparently the 2009 Maps are available from the dealer.
I know this because I just picked one up a few days ago.....;) Quote:
