Problem with DVD DL
 

I'm new in the forum but i've been following your posts and the forum from some time, and i think you guys are great. I have a problem and if anyone experienced the same or have the solution i'll bet very gratefull. I have a 2005 BMW 320D touring with the 16:9 navscreen and MKIV navigation system. The software version is the latest V32. Since 2008, when the maps begin to be in DVD DL that i cant read them. I have the 2010-1 Europe Hight DVD Map, and already tried to burn in Verbatin DVD+R DL, Verbatim DVD-R DL, and other manufactures both in +R and -R, always in the minimum speed mode1, form1, ISO9660. My system always says that it can't read, "please check the CD/DVD". I solved the problem by removing all languages except English. Anyway i would like to know what can i do to solve this problem in order that my system can read dual layer dvds.

if you have v32 loaded then your drive should read DL discs, however some don't like backup discs, so you may be stuck with it.

2 options,
1: only use OEM DL discs
2: buy a new mk4.

I dump all the langs except ENG and this works for me, I'm not interested in being able to read DL discs.

so, were you able to figure out how to use non oem map dvds ?

yes, you can edit the dual layer dvd, delete all the languages, except the one you want, and burn in normal single layer dvd. it works fine, with radars and everything else. that's what i've done.

Could you tell me the name of DVD you have downloaded that actually works?
I have got 3 different ones and when I burn them the nav rejects them.
I have 2009.1 high 2009.1 pro and 2010.1 high....
