Does v32 have language option?

I've been told that v32 for the Mk4 has a "camera warning" option that replaced the "language" option. Is that true?

There is NO option to change the language????

Thanks
Jim

I have no idea what that might be. The MKIV can store three language options-- same with V32 and every prior OS version I am familiar with. I do not know what a "camera warning" option might be.

From what someone told me the camera option either turns ON or OFF the speed camera warning option. What I'n guessing is the map data base has the positions of permanently stationed radar speeding camera traps on the highways. When you are about to drive by one the nav system warns you.

But what i was told was that this option was put into v32 and the language option was removed.

That is what I'm trying to confirm, if the language option has been removed or not fromv32.

It's not an OEM feature.

That's my custom v32 mate and yes the language option is modded to have the on/off.

Like so

It's a nav-hack

OEM software has no speed camera warning capabilities

Feathers 04-29-2010 07:22 PM

Yea but does the OEM version have the language option?

Brian-bmw 04-29-2010 07:28 PM

Yes, the original, OE, non-hacked version of every MKIV OS has the option to select from three languages.

Hi Nico and welcome to the forum.

That disc (I suspect) is a modded version that has the speed camera alerts with the option of alerts on/off.

The basis of the OS was (probably) made by me, and uses the FRE language as the "alert off" so this means that you have ENG all the time.

This disc is for the UK only.

You will need to make a new version of OS that has the alert in FRE and the alert off in FRE too.

You bought a hacked/modified OS version, where the FR language was overwritten with EN.

You could make your own FR OS version by replacing both EN and the modified FR with FR languages.

ok well understood .the Cd look like OE CD and DVD, there is no sticker on it , it is lazer pronted maybe, well done..I never imagined it could be an hacked version..only the price could say that..I contacted the saler of this dvd and he confirmed that he sent me a bad version of firmware and will send me another including french.
Thanks for your help Im happy to be welcome in this forum.
I work for an english stainless exhaust make, who will study the case of my x5 3.0D, I will tell you news about is asap.
thanks

Hi all,
I'm new here at Xoutpost and I'm a new owner of a 2003 X5 with MKIV, I just upgraded my software to v32 (sw 4 1/00). As it is today I can choose between 3 languages, Italian, Deutch and Franch. (No speed camera alert at all)
I need help to change either Italian or deutch to english (US or GB), how can I do this?

Thankful for any help I can get

KiwiJochen 11-05-2011 12:38 PM

To change language use NavCoder and select the desired 3 languages. You'll need to insert the OS disc when prompted so the nav can load the new language

BMW never made a Speed Camera alert as standard. Any OS version with a Speed Camera alert is a hacked OS, which fudges 2 languages to make a camera alert on/off setting. use at your own risk. There are negative side effects depending on what 2 languages were chosen as the languages to hack. eg: in 2nd language, messages from LCM, IKE, appear in a non desired language.

Ok, first of all thanx KiwiJochen for replying. I do not want the speed camera alert so we can forget that. But I would like to know more about NavCoder, what is it and where can I get it? I've never done this but am not afraid to learn so I could use some sort of guidance pls.

Type "navcoder" into google

The navcoder website is the first result, at the top of the list!

Read the website then try out the software then ask any further questions

Hi Jochen,
I've now bought Resler's usb unit and installed it. I've also installed and registerd Nacoder. I'm going in a minut out to connect the Restler to the 3 pin connecter from the cdc and try it. I'll get back with the results.

Tshilly 12-09-2011 07:14 AM

Hi again Jochen,
I've successfully installed the Resler's unit in my car and got navcoder working, check video: PC USB to IBUS in BMW X5 - YouTube
But I have a few questions..
* I managed to change a couple of languages but I couldn't find swedish in navcoder when coding the language how do I get it?
* My car came with the BT module wich works just fine but I can't activate the voice command why?
* Navcoder only works when cdc is disconnected, is it supposed to be that way or can they both be connected and working?

Thanx in advance!
