navcoder via 20pin OBD

Hello, Is it possible to use this with navcoder.Thanks
BMW 20PIN to DB9 DB 9 Serial Port RS232 CABLE 20 PIN on eBay (end time 25-Jun-10 11:01:23 BST)

That connector is only suitable for an ADS interface. Do not connect it to your computer. The 12V levels may permenantly damage your serial port. You need the USB adaptors you were linked to in the thread you posted on E46 fanatics asking the same question.

As bob said, this is just a cable and not an interface

NavCoder will work with the OBDII port or the 20pin round diagnostic connector "soon".

Will I need a different interface then?

Depends what you have now :confused:

I have the homemade I-bus interface for navcoder now, but I also have ADS and 20 pin cable from Ken. Just curious what the new navcoder hookup will be like.

Wire up to the 20p round diagnostic connector like this:

20 = TXD+ D-Bus databus, also known as K-Line 2
19 = SGND Signal ground
2 = +12Vign Ignition power KL15 via 5A fuse

You need to have an OBD-enabled version of NavCoder, it is not yet in public release, but if you wish to help test, email me.

Voice should work properly.

But always make sure the nav is coded correctly for the car first, and has the latest software loaded.
Then check the voice by using Settings - Volume, as you change it will speak LOUDER and SOFTER

Note - it doesn't replace the iBus interface, merely gives a second method to connect Navcoder.
