Need Help! Navigation Onboard LCD Replacement
My Onboard monitor LCD on my 04 X5 4.4i started to get cancer (dead pixels starting to spread across). I purchased a new LCD from Eurotech LCD. As I was reassembling the monitor back after replacing the LCD. The ribbon cable ripped as I was trying to push it back into the socket. The ribbon cable is named "SUMITOMO-Y AWM 2896 80C VW-1". This cable connects from the back of the LCD onto the circuit board of the onboard monitor. If anyone knows where I can get spare parts for the onboard monitor or where to order the cables, Please let me know. Much appreciated

I think you are out of luck mate, they are not sold separately, so you will need to get either a broken one from a breakers or find a cheap one from ebay, I think there was a one on the bimmerboard forums for $100 shipped, I'll dig it out:
Here you go, 16:9 For Sale. |
Thank you very much for your reply. I'm contacting the guy right now.

X5 LCD Display
I've got the same cancer issue, and I need a replacement LCD screen as well..
Can you tell me what the part # was for the LCD screen you got from Eurotech? Sure would appreciate it!! |
Sharp LQ065T9BR51U (E53 X5). Make sure you buy this exact model if you have a X5. They have similar models but the viewing angle is different.

Is this just the screen element or the whole screen assembly that fits on the front of the main large display housing? Do you have the P/N for the e38/39 type?
|
This is just for the LCD Screen alone. You can find the DIY on the main page under Navigation on how to replace the LCD. I'm not sure what the P/N is for the E38/E39 model but you can go on Eurotech Electronics HongKong to inquire about the model number. They charge about 150 + shipping for the LCD and they ship super fast!

The same thing just happened to me. While changing the LCD the ribbon cable ripped. Anyone have any luck finding a replacement source?
