New: Nav question
 

I am new to the board this is my first post i just picked up a 2001 x5 4.4 and it does not have nav and i would really like to pick up a good navigation system. i know there are some upgrade kits for people that already have the navigation system in the car but i was wondering what kind of options i have either in a aftermarket unit or in a OEM bmw unit? thanks for all the help in advance!! :thumbup:

Google for X5 Navigation retrofit. There are loads of photo step by step instals to read.

I have factory navi in my x5 , so far i like it but i am used to my avic-d3 navi and interface is friendly. As i am writing this, there is a lot of retrofits navi for x5, that looks the same to each other but different in software. I was told and read myself, some known bugs out there exist. My suggestion would be to wait and research as everything will be getting fixed.
Type here in search bar navi retrofit, there will be several. Also on youtube as well there is a lot of videos about navi for e53 with demonstration
