NAVI02 running on High DVDs Update...
Hi Guys,
i have an '06 750Li which has the Navi02 unit and uses the "High" Navigation DVDs. I am located in the UAE and someone told me i could go to the dealership and update my system to accept the Professional Navigation DVDs. Is this true? Can i just upgrade the firmware myself, so the system accepts the Professional DVDs? I am already running firmware version V32. Thanks for the help! Smiler51 |
i was under the impression that your '06 7-series can only use the "professional" navigation DVDs and *not* the "HIGH" which was for the older cars with MK4 navigation units. but i'm no expert...

Unfortunately not. I wish it would though :-(

A 2006 750 should have a NAVI03 I think and only use High disks. I think the Prof disks are only for the CCC systems. Someone correct me if I am wrong. What SW version does your menu show? The newest for a NAVI03 is 09.08.02 which is listed on my new factory Ver.32 disk.

Hey Guys,
thanks for the replies. Yes, i am running software version V32. My car is build in '05 but is the '06 model. I actually found a post that said the SW 8.1.... are NAVI02 and 9.1.... are NAVI03 units. So you are correct Roy and i do indeed have a NAVI03 unit :-) So would it be possible to change the firmware or software on the DVD to accept the Professional instead of High Navi DVDs? Thanks Smiler51 |
I am pretty sure the CCC (Prof.) system uses a different type nav computer and you can't change it.

Hey Guys,
so i brought my car in for changing the navigation software but this apparently doesn't work, as you guys already mentioned previously. I have a 2009 Navigation DVD for an X5 (2009 Model). Is it possible to take the map data from this DVD and update with it the map data i have on my 2008 High DVD? I need to find some way to get newer maps on my system, as no updated DVD is available. Thanks Smiler51 |
