Can the mk4 be saved??
 

hi all, i had a mk4 nav unit worked with no issues until about 2 weeks ago.
i had no battery probs(less than a year old) for some reason, one day unlocked the car, turned ignition on, and the screen just flickered for a sec or 2, then nothing, just blankness!:(
went to the boot could hear the disc spinning,and the red led was ok, then started to flash a few times, stay on, then flash again over and over in a rythmic pattern. disc would not eject either. after a while the tv module took over as the screen came back to life with that awful 80's looking screen.
i connected up my navcoder, but it said unit not communicating,
does anyone know if the unit is toast or any ideas i could try?:confused:

Disconnect the unit and plug it back in. Wait 10 minutes or so before plugging it back in. Make sure you do not disturb the car whilst waiting, like close or open doors.

If no luck, let me know, as I should be able to repair your unit.
