E70 X5 xDrive 30d (2009) SatNav Upgrade
 

Does anyone know a cost cutting way to get the sat nav software upgraded and the 2011 Europe Professional Map DVD for my 09 X5? Just been into the local dealer and they want £130 to upgrade software and then £170 for the Map DVD. Seems a tad rich to me!

Easiest way is to complain that something is wrong with it .... a classic know problem is that the display brightness is never remembered.

You set it ... to say brighter ... and then a few days later it returns to its default setting.

They have never fixed the bug ... but they will probably install new software to "try" and fix it.

As for map updates ... well ... do a internet search. I think you'll be able to deal with that yourself, no problem.
