Cannot Decide

I Cannot decide between getting a valentine1 or the new video ipod. I have around 450$ saved up. What do you think I should do? Oh one question, What are the benefits of hardwiring the V1?

Hmmm - good questions. If you're prone to exceed the speed limit regularly, I'd say get the V1 first. If not, then go for the iPod. The reason for hard-wiring the V1 is to hide the unsightly power wire that you'd otherwise have hanging from your V1 down to the cig. lighter. You also may want to look into this if you are getting the V1 - I've had mine for over a year and love it! GL with your decision!

I'd vote for the Ipod and then get the IceLink Plus.
I think I read somewhere here that you can also watch videos from your ipod on your nav screen if you have one.

Get the iPod, you can use it everywhere versus the V1 which can only be used while driving. You will need to save up for the IceLink Plus though.

I see that you're in NJ, if you ever drive on the GSP/17/NJTurnpike/80, I say get the V1, there are more than a few radar traps on those roads and the V1 will pay for itself.

I'd vote for the V1.

Chances are you'll probably get both anyway... but if you get the V1 first, you might save yourself a ticket - the cost of which would eat into your iPod fund!!

Think about it this way, the first speeding ticket you will avoid with the V1 will pay for the ipod.

Another reason for hardwiring the V1 is so that you don't have to turn on/off your V1 everytime you use your car as it will automatically power up/down with the ignition (cig. lighter is not switched).
