Almost done with apps!

I'm about to print off my resume and honor code to mail off to UT.
I just have a few questions (and most of them are to kinda reassure myself)..
  1. What kind of double checks can you do to make sure you've included everything needed on the resume
  2. What quality paper should I print out the resume on? I know it's got to be thick, but how much is enough
  3. Is there some kind of cyro sleep state I can enter in until March?
In a few hours, I'll be done with all my applications. It feels good to be pretty much done with high school and all the crap that comes with it. Four or so months left until it's class of 2010 rather than 2006.

Congrats to you, Ricky. Good luck with all of your apps. What are you going to major in? As far as the quality of the paper, I would just send them a laptop with the resume already opened on the screen and ready for them to read.

I'm going to double major in Economics and Mechanical Engineering.

I wish I could send them a screenshot! My resume turned out to be four pages :x

4 pages??? for a high school kid?? you better cut that down to 1. Nobody's going to read it. I have people I interview who have worked for 10+ years who have their resume at 2 pages and they are technical engineers. If you want to double check, make sure you use all your words properly on your app and check spelling and grammar.. that would be a good start... and doubling up on Econ and ME??? wishful thinking...

I really did try to cut it down to 1, but that was impossible. The template UT wants us to follow really restricts us in how much information we can put per line.

Total word amount was around 950 words. The thing that kind of comforted me was that our counselor told us that because we had so much extra cirricular stuff, it was 'okay' to put them down as long as we didn't go psycho. Just touch and go.

I forwarded my resume to a few folks so I have extra eyes going over them. Now I just wait till I get responses so I can make changes, and then buy the paper.

I might end up minoring in ME. I'm really hoping to get into BHP (business honors program) for economics. If I just get into regular business then ME is a must.

Ricky, hope all goes well with your apps. Isn't it kind of late to be sending out apps? Two years ago when I was in your position, I had everything out by November? Where all are you applying? Anyway man... and let us know how things turn out.

I did Rice University Interm Decision. I applied early decision but I withheld my SATII scores so I would be bumped to Interm because I didn't want to be stuck to go to Rice if I got accepted.

I did regular admission to UT. UT regular deadline is in nine days. I had all my stuff in for both colleges (except my resume) in November 15th.

Fr0zty, a few friends and I got together and pitched in some money for all of us so the paper doesn't go to waste..
