The behaviour in the video is extreme. I've seen fish swim up to a light but not go nuts like that. Most if not all fish hunt by sight. Flashing light simulates the flash of scales as the prey tries to escape. In many places fishing at night with a light is illegal.

I couldn't really tell if it was the light that was causing the fish to jump; I think they were jumping already. I suppose the light may have added to this though...
