Hi Gang!

It's been a while - sometime last October I think? - since I was here last. First, Jeff and Drex...AWESOME WORK!!! This is truly a premier website. And the only thing better than an awesome website is an awesome website filled with awesome people I'm glad to see that the gang's all here!

Short story first: I sold my 530i a couple months ago and bought - HORRORS! - a Honda. Actually, I'm really happy with it so far (it's a 2006 Accord EX-L, Alabaster Silver over Black leather...wanted the 6-sp but they're in short supply on the right coast for some reason). It is no 5-series, but it's a damn fine (and competent) driver and I don't have to drive 2 hours to get service. I've already done the first mod (a tasteful HFM spoiler) and plan for several more tasteful mods.

SHHHHH...don't say anything, but I'm planning to pick up a new Habanero Red Civic Si for Mrs. Driver8 in a couple weeks. That should be fun, and a darn good way of helping her deal with the onset of 36. We drove a Galaxy Grey one the day I picked up the Accord and DAYUM! that car was like a sportbike on four wheels. Truly a Dr Jeckyl/Mr Hyde personality...kinda like my '87 Buick Grand National...uh well, actually, maybe not.

For those of you who care, I finally went back to work. Oddly enough, I ended up right back where I was - sorta - about two years ago, back in oil and gas. You may recall I left my SAP program mgr. job with the pharma company about a year ago after trying (and failing) to successfully work for Satan himself. The good thing is, as those of you in the northern territories can attest by way of your heating bills, oil and gas ain't a bad place to be right now (and I got back all my service...now I just gotta figure out what to do with seven weeks of vacation!). On the other hand, buying back my soul from the devil cost me about 35 bills a year. (Ah well, that's why they make Hondas, right?) And I can tell you that ransoming back my soul was priceless

Hope you're all doing well,
Mike

Hey Mike, good to read you again.

Great to hear that things worked out on the job front, and that the storm has passed. That's excellent news.

Your articles on your "Big 20-inch" replica wheels & tires, and on packaging and shipping rims and tires, are classics and have long since been bookmarked. Always a good read.

Not holding my breath or anything, but still waiting on "Lost in the Woods, Part III."

Don't be a stranger.

Best of luck.

Ken

I'll say it one more time: Honda first for me, then anything else . The Accord engine is fantastic; it's def a competent car. And they've done a marvelous job with the new Civic (sedan and coupe). I don't stop hearing enough great things about the new Si. Seems like you def have a solid stable.

Those newest Accords look nice. I like the new rear with those LEDs.
