You know, before I heard the guy speak, I thought his music was something I could listen to...But the guy is a true a$$hole...

And the Rolling Stone thing took it to a whole new level...What a p*ick....

I hate that dick head. I use to like his music, then I heard him speak. Saw a brief clip of him in an interview the other day discussing his car accident where he shattered his jaw. He said it was the worst pain imaginable. Well I'm doubting that, not from personal experience, but my father snapped his femur 6 times from 6-18 years old and I'm pretty sure cracking the largest bone in your body hurt more then a jaw.

Oh, not to mention the amazingly intelligent commentary " Bush hates black people".

Then there's this gem:
"If I was more complacent and let things slide, my life would be easier, but you all wouldn't be as entertained," he said."

I don't find him entertaining at all. Is his 15 minutes up yet?

Rolling Stone and the Rock music industry prides themselves on controversial covers... is this anymore shocking than the "Jesus Walks" song or video? Do you know the lyrics or the message behind it and some of the other songs like "Sierra Leone"... hmmm. Is Kanye's Rolling Stone cover more shocking than these or many other album covers?

I love a good debate.

I like his music for the most part. I also love James Brown and desperately wish I would never again read in the paper how JB is struggling with addiction, beating up someone, etc. Nobody's perfect.

I think most people have a problem with the fact that Kanye's anything but humble, - he trash talks like Deion Sanders used to do, only Kanye has no field of physical play to man up against someone and back up his talk- it's not a rapper's style, but I think he might benefit from a little more humility.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately he has had an inflated view of his talent for years now... kind of like Whitney saying that Bobby Brown is the King of Pop (now there's an anti-drug ad if I've ever seen one)... both have/had talent - but not that much. The current culture is shock now... Janet's breast, 50 Cent's bullet wounds, Paris' Sex Video, Desperate Housewife and T.O., trade spouses, swap wives, marry a stranger (millionaire), sleep with the Idol judge, we're getting married: J-Lo, Pitt, Simpson, Cruise, Zellweger, we're breaking up: J-Lo, Pitt, Simpson, Cruise, Zellweger... ughhhhhh. There appears to be no bottom, but plenty of people trying to get there.

It's been done so many times. For example...
Esquire's award winning cover entitled "The Passion of Muhammad Ali"

So Kanye doing a re-hash of fellow rap artist Nas' stunt is pretty bush league... I agree with the Village Voice, Rolling Stone needs to put "a moratorium on "The Passion of X" headlines (the last good one was "The Passion of the Kleist," for an article about a softcore porn montage based on the work of German playwright Heinrich von Kleist), can we talk about how boring this cover is?"

The worst part is how effective the concept is... as of tonite there are 351,000 Google entries on the cover. This won't be the last time, but we can hope.
