Pics from the Washington Auto Show

Lots more customs than in most shows (not nearly as many concepts and factory representation) and they did have the Challenger and Shelby on display which I was hyped for.

The BMW area had 'local dealership' written all over it, complete with an '02 525 to represent CPO. The M4 convertible was there and they had an E90 that you could sit in, but the crowds were unbearable and there were tons of kids just taking entirely too damn long in the cars, so we didn't bother.

Some pics from the show. Notice the cheap as hell door locks on the Escalade, good grief. Nice Zenetti model sitting on the product in here and check out the ladies' custom crotch rocket!

Yeah, I know, but it's sorta on topic...

Now, here is a Yellow Z06!
Not my fave color, but I really like the new Z...Gresch, JV and I, need one I think.

(Pics from a Vette/Hot Rod meet in Maggie Valley,NC last summer.) The local 'billies were all over that Z06. They liked the NASCAR decaled GTO of all things, too. )

i'm shocked that they left 1 open....

I went by the local Chevy stealer on friday, sales manager told me that he sold an '06 MY Z for $15k over sticker, I was SHOCKED. told the guy "good for you, but whomever bought it is a MORON" .... the guy traded in an '03 Z Torch Red, with 3400 miles on it, stealer sold it for $36k in a day.... once again, shocked.

David, wonder if it's the same Z06? Can't imagine they'd bring out a ton of those for people to drool over/scratch/pass gas in. There wasn't even a Chevy rep nearby to police the scene, but they didn't hook up a battery to it so the kids could blow out the speakers like the other makes.

In any case, I was sitting inside it next to a dude around your age, 40 or so , and we were talking about how far the Vette has come and how it's never dropped out of production for even one year since '53...truly a remarkable car with a remarkable heritage. We ain't got a whole lot here on this side of the Atlantic over 200 years old, but the Vette is American History.

Actually in '83 Chevy couldn't overcome quality problems and only 43 were made, none making it to the public:

A total of 43 - 1983 model Corvettes were built, but there were so many quality problems with them it was decided to halt production until they could be corrected. By the time the problems were corrected, it was so late into the model year that the car was brought out as a 1984 model which was run for a year and a half. The 1983,s were never sold to the public and the only one that is known to still exist is in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY

-maybe, but I suspect they had a fleet of MellowYellow Z06s floating around.
-"40"? Thanks for the kind thought...hell, I can hardly remember 40.
