Anyone watch Barrett-Jackson last weekend?

This car went for 3 mil. The guy who bought it is gonna display it at a new museum in Colorado. The dude was kind of a prick, really trying to get in the face of the other bidders. Cool car, definitely a one of a kind.

That was originally on the last weekend of January live. There was another B-J auction in Florida either last weekend or the weekend before. The same "ferrari hat guy" was there again buying more cars... and wearing a Barrett-Jackson polo shirt.

Greater Fool Theory

Did you see the '57 Chevy that went at $130,000?

AutoWeek had an article on Barret-Jackson the other week and my conclusion was that if you are buying a car there, you don't know what you're doing.

That was a good article. I agree with the "fool and his money" point of the article, but I also like the other conclusion that B-J is a complete anomaly to the rest of the collector car market. If I absolutley had to have a particular car, I'd go, but otherwise I'll do my own research.

An Aston Martin DB6 for $150k + ? I don't think so!
